Trash

What You See

When you open Trash from the Vault Hub, you see:

• A search bar at the top
• An info banner: "Items are permanently deleted after 30 days" with a total count of trashed items
• A scrollable list of deleted items, sorted most recently deleted first
• An "Empty Trash" button in the top bar (only visible when trash has items)

Each trashed item shows:

• A color-coded icon matching the item type (password, note, card, or document)
• The item name
• A subtitle (if available)
• A days remaining countdown (e.g., "15 days remaining", "Expires today")
• Warning styling when 5 or fewer days remain
• Two buttons:
  • Restore — puts the item back in your vault
  • Delete Forever — permanently removes the item

If the trash is empty, you'll see: "Trash is empty — Deleted items will appear here for 30 days."

What You Can Do

Restore an Item

1. Find the item in the trash list
2. Tap the "Restore" button (shown in your app's primary color)
3. The item is immediately restored to your vault
4. A message appears with a "View" action to navigate to the restored item

Permanently Delete a Single Item

1. Find the item in the trash list
2. Tap the "Delete Forever" button (shown in red)
3. A confirmation dialog appears: "Permanently Delete? — This action cannot be undone."
4. Tap "Delete Forever" to confirm

Empty the Entire Trash

1. Tap the "Empty Trash" button in the top bar
2. A confirmation dialog appears showing the total number of items: "Empty Trash? — This action cannot be undone."
3. Tap "Empty Trash" to permanently delete everything at once

Search in Trash

Type in the search bar to filter trashed items by name or subtitle.

How Trash Works

• When you delete an item (password, note, card, or document), it moves to Trash instead of being permanently removed
• Items stay in Trash for 30 days
• After 30 days, items are automatically and permanently deleted — they cannot be recovered
• The countdown for each item is shown on its card
• Items with 5 or fewer days remaining are highlighted with a warning indicator
• You can restore any item back to your vault at any time during the 30-day window
• Permanently deleting items (via "Delete Forever" or "Empty Trash") is irreversible
