Managing Secure Notes
Secure Notes List
What You See
When you open Secure Notes from the Vault Hub, you see a scrollable list of your encrypted notes. Each entry shows:
- A note icon in a colored circle
- The title of the note
- A preview of the note content (first two lines)
At the top is a search bar. On phones, an "Add Note" button floats at the bottom right. On desktop, the screen shows a split view — note list on the left, selected note's details on the right.
What You Can Do

Secure Note Details
What You See
When you view a note, the detail screen shows:
- The title in a large heading
- Metadata chips showing when the note was created, last updated, and last accessed
- Note History card (if you've edited this note before) — shows a count of previous versions, tap to view them
- Content sections — each section is displayed as a separate card with:
- The section title (e.g., "Notes", "Recovery Info", "Backup Codes")
- The section content (selectable text so you can copy portions)
- A copy button to copy the entire section to your clipboard
If the note has no sections, a single "Content" card shows the full note text.
What You Can Do

Clipboard auto-clears after 30 seconds when you copy content.
Add / Edit a Secure Note
What You See
The note editor shows:

Each section has:
- A section title field
- A content area (multi-line text, 3–6 lines visible)
- A delete button to remove that section
At the bottom, an info box reminds you: "Notes are encrypted and stored securely on your device. Use sections to keep recovery details organized."
How to Add a Secure Note
- Tap "Add Note" from the notes list or Vault Hub
- Enter a Title (required)
- A default "Notes" section is already created — type your content there
- Optionally add more sections by tapping "Add Section"
- Optionally select a folder
- Tap "Save" in the top bar
Adding Sections
When you tap "Add Section," a dialog appears with quick-pick suggestions:
- Notes
- Recovery Info
- Security Questions
- Linked Emails
- Backup Codes
- Devices
Tap any suggestion to use that name, or type a custom section title and tap "Add."
How to Edit a Secure Note
- Open the note's detail screen
- Tap the edit icon
- Make changes to the title, sections, or folder
- Tap "Save"
When you edit a note, the previous version is automatically saved to Note History (up to 10 previous versions).
Validation
- Title is required
- At least one section must exist
- All section titles must be filled in
How to Delete a Secure Note
- From the notes list, tap the menu icon (⋮) on a note → "Delete", or tap the delete icon on the detail screen
- Confirm in the dialog: "Move to Trash?"
- The note moves to Trash for 30 days
