Create Your Vault
When You See This Screen
This screen appears only once — when you sign in for the first time and no existing vault is found for your Google account.
What You See
- A shield icon at the top
- The heading "Create Master Password"
- An explanation: "This password encrypts everything in your vault. Choose something strong and memorable."
- A Master Password field (hidden by default, with a visibility toggle)
- A Password Strength Bar below the password field — shows strength in real time as you type
- A Confirm Master Password field (hidden by default, with a visibility toggle)
- A "Create Vault" button
How to Create Your Vault
- Enter a master password — this is the single password that encrypts and protects everything in your vault
- Watch the strength bar update as you type — aim for a strong or very strong rating
- Re-enter the same password in the confirmation field
- Tap "Create Vault"
Password Requirements
Your master password must meet all of these:
- At least 12 characters long
- Contains at least one uppercase letter (A-Z)
- Contains at least one lowercase letter (a-z)
- Contains at least one number (0-9)
- Contains at least one special character (!@#$%^&* etc.)
If any requirement isn't met, you'll see specific messages below the password field telling you what's missing. The "Create Vault" button stays disabled until all requirements are satisfied and both passwords match.
What Happens Next
After tapping "Create Vault":
- The app derives an encryption key from your master password (this takes a moment)
- An empty vault is created and encrypted on your device
- A recovery key is generated
- You're taken to the Recovery Key screen
Important Notes
- Memorize your master password — DavianVault never stores it, and there is no "forgot password" email reset
- Your master password is the only way to access your vault (along with the recovery key as a backup)
- If you forget your master password and lose your recovery key, your data cannot be recovered
- The password fields are automatically cleared from memory when you leave this screen
