This page shows the encryption methods used by DavianVault in plain language:
Encryption at rest:
- AES-256-GCM encrypts all vault data
- Each encryption uses a unique random IV (initialization vector)
- GCM provides both confidentiality and integrity checks
Key derivation:
- Your master password is processed with Argon2id (64MB memory-hard, 3 iterations)
- Derived keys are used to encrypt and unlock the vault key
- Keys are stored only in your platform's secure storage
Zero-knowledge design:
- The app never stores your master password
- Decryption happens only in memory on your device
- The vault stays encrypted when locked or in the background
Local-First Promise
Where: Settings → About → Local-First Promise
